OSIWA Good Governance <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Accountability and Responsiveness through the effective participation of traditional leaders in the local Governance process was a two years project funded by OSIWA in Nanumba North and South districts in the Northern Region of Ghana. The project equipped traditional authorities\u2019 knowledge, skills and information to engage with local government authorities in decision-making, planning and programs within their communities. It also enhanced their skills to hold the local government authorities accountable. This has made District Assembly Officials to realize that, community members meaning of development is different from what local government officials and elected representatives means development. Because what they see as development in their communities is different from what is perceived by them\/technocrats.<\/span><\/p>\n

Promotion of Reproductive Health and Rights<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Changing Minds and Attitudes to curb child\/mother mortalities and infertility in the Nanumba north and south districts was implemented in 12 communities in Nanumba North and South Districts. The project has built the capacity of community members as change-makers at the community level for community systems strengthening to improve maternal and child health issues in the two districts. It also changes behavior, attitudes and practices towards family planning practices and utilization and this has improved sustainable health care services for the communities<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

President\u2019s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (IPEPFAR) <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Nutritional support and education for People Living with HIV\/AIDs was a three years program implemented with funding from the President\u2019s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (PEPFAR)<\/strong> The program supported People Living with HIV\/AIDs on nutritional support and education in Shekinah clinic in the Tamale metropolis in the northern region of Ghana. Also intersectional group discussion and education were conducted. Hygiene and sanitation related to food contamination and how it can be a greatest health risks to their lives and other health issues like safe practices for infant feeding when the mother is infected with HIV were discussed to reduce the risk of HIV transmission through breast feeding. Finally, the program benefited 656 PLHIV\u2019s in preventing hunger and other social vices such as prostitution, streetism etc it also inspired in bringing hope to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

World Food Programme <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Widening opportunities for People living with HIV\/AIDs was funded by World Food Programme to enhance PLHIV\u2019s livelihood and wealth creation in three districts in the northern region of Ghana through the establishment small ruminant. The project established three small ruminate centers in Tamale Metropolis, Yendi Municipality and Savelugu\/Nanton Municipality for 300 PLHIV members. The organization conducted training for them on animal care, treatment, feed preparation and pen management. Also they trained on livestock management and records keeping as well as groups dynamic and conflict resolution. This has improved their economic status and income level<\/span><\/p>\n
