OSIWA Good Governance
Accountability and Responsiveness through the effective participation of traditional leaders in the local Governance process was a two years project funded by OSIWA in Nanumba North and South districts in the Northern Region of Ghana. The project equipped traditional authorities’ knowledge, skills and information to engage with local government authorities in decision-making, planning and programs within their communities. It also enhanced their skills to hold the local government authorities accountable. This has made District Assembly Officials to realize that, community members meaning of development is different from what local government officials and elected representatives means development. Because what they see as development in their communities is different from what is perceived by them/technocrats.
